Got a massive E-470 Bill? Frustrated? Send us a YouTube Video

It’s quite clear when people get a massive bill in the mail from the E470 tolling system, they’re angry and frustrated.

I’ve only been here in Denver for a few months and I can’t tell you how many angry emails I’ve received about this topic.

I’ve heard from people who have bills greater than $10,000!

Some people say they were never sent an invoice until they got a surprise letter from a collection agency.

Other folks are upset claiming they paid their tolls but still got a collection notice.

I’d like hear your story.

Send me a simple YouTube video.  Hold up your bill to your web camera and say what you want to say for as long or short as you want to say it.

Perhaps your video and story will make air for a report I’m working on.

Like many E-470 users, I have been billed for more than what I owed – they tagged on excessive fees because they said I did not pay my bill. I never got a bill and when I reviwed the bill, it has exessive fees. When I complained to them, instead of meeting with me to go over the bill, they still send my file to collections. I had no choice but to pay the excessive bill in order to get my account out of collections. Now, I am on the billing system so that I can check my tolls. What really sucks is that I also have to pay higher tolls because I opted the billing system (so that I can get a bill) and I no longer use the electronic puck.

The lack of any signs on E-470 onramps warning drivers that cash is not accepted upon exiting E-470 is significant.

Most (if not all other) states allow for cash payments on any toll roads you happen upon.

Upon exiting E-470, if unaware of the toll payment procedures, the only option is a toll violation. Most drivers are unaware a violation has occured (no warning signs) and continue on until the notice arrives in the mail (if timely or at all).

Can you bring this issue to light in the future? :-)

My name is gary mccarty , and i got a bill for over 500 dollars that included an entire year
of tolls. they wanted their money right away, and when i sent about 25% on the first check
they sent me to collections. I saved some cash from a job and paid the remaining balance
as fast as i could. during that time i must have used the road again , but they didn’t bill me
and a few months later i was in collections again. the original reason for the year delay in
billing they claimed that whey billed some guy in loveland that had my plate before me, but
thats a lie they had billed me a few times before the year of no bills.

I also have a bill in collections for a small charge in comparision to some other people that I’ve heard about, but it is still very frustrating! I have tried talking to the collection company before and that accomplished nothing. They told me I could appeal the bill, but they were the ones to make the decision on an appeal. So what good does that do? I even sent in documentation to e470 that the DMV had my correct address on file since they say they send it to the address that the vehicle is registered with. They sent me back an email stating they were not going to change any of the fees . So my question is why are they getting away with this and not being held accountable when they are charging people rediculous fees and not sending out bills? There are certainly plenty of people saying there is an issue. Also currently I have once again not recieved a bill from them since tolls incurred starting in october, so I will be calling them tomorrow.
